This great wine comes from the best vintages and the oldest vineyards of the Tenuta La Meirana- planted between 1953 and 1955- after a selection of the best bunches of grapes harvested by hand and taken to the cellar in wooden boxes. The 2009 grape harvest was characterized by regular flowering in the first ten days of June and a hot summer with significant temperature differences between day and night. Those conditions gave the wine a great structure, remarcable tastiness and intense aroms. This is how our “Vecchia Annata” comes to light after “sur lie” ageing in steel tanks for 85 months.
